Bobwhite Habitat Workshop Scheduled in Kansas

Kansas is one of the leading states for quail hunting, as well as restoration

The Kansas Department of Wildlife, Parks and Tourism is hosting a workshop in Lawrence to discuss how to foster a better environment for bobwhite quail and other wildlife.

The workshop is from 6 p.m. to 9 p.m. Oct. 11 at the Dreher Family 4-H building, 2110 Harper St. Speakers from several wildlife and conservation agencies will talk about basic habitat requirements for the birds, effective management practices landowners can implement and funding that landowners can tap into through local, state and federal programs.

The workshop will include door prizes and refreshments. Participants will receive a package of information containing habitat requirements, management practices and cost-share assistance programs.

The event is free and open to the public. For more information contact Brad Rueschhoff at 785-273-6740 or e-mail brad.rueschhoff@ksoutdoors.com.
